The tutoring provided was outstanding. My child gained a solid understanding of both English and History, particularly in essay structure, analysis, and critical thinking. The sessions were well-organised and tailored to exam requirements, which made a big difference in their confidence. We’re very pleased with the results – they achieved Grade 9s in both IGCSE subjects.

Below are just a handful of reviews for Abu Khadeejah’s course. Alhamdulillāh, we’ve had a 100% pass rate in our course thus far.

    Review 1

I really love the weekly classes with our Ustādh Abu Khadeejah. He makes them easy to understand and always makes sure everyone is with him. The topics and papers were all well-explained and organised. Even with being a busy housewife and mother, the lessons are always recorded to be able to revise them. Our Ustādh, may Allāh reward him with the highest rank of Jannah, is like a father to us and always there to help when needed. May Allāh bless this course.

    Review 2

Adding to the review I left last year, after completing two years with al-Ustādh Abū Khadeejah حفظه الله, I still hold what I said previously.

The curriculum covers not only the full A-Level Cambridge syllabus upon the Salafī way but goes far beyond it, explaining in detail ʿaqīdah issues, fiqh issues, the study of the various madhāhib, Islāmic finances, rules of inheritance, rules of zakāh, Islāmic history, the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ and some of his Companions رضي الله عنهم, and much more that I can’t summarise in this short review, always based on Salafiyyah and the explanation of the great scholars.

The format remained just as efficient throughout: detailed notes in (private) PDF before each class, recorded sessions, open Q&A for both on-topic and off-topic issues, during the lesson and outside of the lessons through WhatsApp, and graded assignments as well. He also gives bonus lessons free of charge. Last week, for example, he gave us 6 hours of lessons.

The Shaykh has always been approachable and patient, and his teaching style makes every lesson engaging and enjoyable. So I love him for the sake of Allāh. I’m planning to continue my studies with him after these two beneficial years as long as I can, especially since there’s a reduced price for those staying after the initial two years.

May Allāh reward him for his efforts.

    Review 3

As a wife, mother of three, and homeschooling mum, I needed a program that could fit into my busy schedule and the Advanced Level Islamic Studies course taught by Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah has been exactly that and more.

The sessions are thoughtfully structured and recorded, making it easy to keep up even on the busiest days. We’re provided with detailed notes, and there’s always support available whenever it’s needed. Despite my daily responsibilities, I’ve found the course to be both accessible and deeply enriching.

After each lesson, I feel a renewed strength in my eemaan, and I genuinely look forward to the class every week. It has become a source of motivation and consistency in my life.

This has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my journey of seeking knowledge. Learning upon the methodology of the Salaf is a blessing, and I wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone serious about their Islamic studies.

I’ve been listening to Ustaadh’s duroos for over a decade now, and to be able to learn from him directly has been a great honour. He is a very patient and amazing teacher. May Allāh bless and preserve him. آمين.

    Review 5

This course has exceeded every expectation. As a mother of three and a part-time teacher, time is always limited—but this class has become something I truly look forward to every week. It’s not just educational—it’s transformative.

Ustadh Abu Khadeejah teaches with such passion, clarity, and sincerity that it ignites a genuine craving to keep learning. His depth of knowledge and ability to explain complex topics so clearly have been a gift. Even after each lesson ends, I find myself reflecting, applying, and wanting more.

This course has deepened my understanding of Islam in a way I didn’t realise I was missing. I walk away from each class feeling spiritually nourished, intellectually enriched, and more connected to my deen. May Allah reward the Ustadh immensely.

    Review 6

I  joined this A-Level course because I wasn’t only looking for naseehah, as important and beneficial as that is, I was seeking something that also offers structure, depth, and authentic Islamic knowledge.

Alhamdulillaah, this course provides exactly that and more.

The materials are of a high academic standard, yet presented in a way that is easy to follow and apply.

Ustādh Abu Khadeejah teaches with patience, clarity, and sincerity – and over time, he’s become like a father-figure in my Islamic journey.

The two hours fly by, and even though the homework is optional, I’ve found it to be a source of tremendous benefit, in-shā’-Allah.

For anyone serious about seeking knowledge with structure and purpose, this course is a true blessing.

    Review 7

Studying A-Level Islamic Studies with Abu Khadeejah has honestly been one of the best experiences of my education so far. The way he explains complex topics with clarity and depth is something you don’t get in most courses.

What makes the course even better is how great the lessons are. Every lesson is packed with knowledge, but it’s delivered in a way that’s really easy to understand. They’re never boring. In fact, they’re something I actually look forward to. Our teacher makes everything so clear and engaging, and the way he explains things just makes it all make sense.

I’ve learnt so much this year, and I’m very excited for Year 2!

    Review 8

I had completed the Islāmic Studies A-Level course with Shaykh Abū Khadījah (may Allāh preserve him upon goodness) last year. It had spanned over a period of 2 years, and I enjoyed my studies with him over the entire duration of the course.

It was an engaging experience for me, and the Shaykh shared with us a wealth of information based on the syllabus of the course as mentioned by Cambridge.

I’m currently redoing the entire course and have recently completed my 3rd year with the Shaykh.

I am not studying with the intention of clearing the Cambridge A-Level exam. My primary purpose is to benefit myself in my religion. It has personally helped me to be regular with the lectures, keeping in mind that I’m paying for the classes. A wide range of topics, including ʿaqīdah, fiqh, sīrah, etc., are addressed in the course, and I find the material very useful.

We have the added benefit of going through such content with a Salafī Shaykh who was recommended by Shaykh Rabīʿ Ibn Hādī (رحمه الله), and was recommended by other major scholars.

I would definitely recommend this course for the English-speaking audience.

    Review 9

I have now completed the A-Level Year 1 with Ustādh Abu Khadeejah (ḥafiẓahullāh), and I can honestly say that it has been one of the most eye-opening and beneficial learning journeys I have experienced. The course is filled with essential knowledge based upon the Book of Allāh and the authentic Sunnah, with the understanding of the noble Salaf of this Ummah.

At the age of 44, I’ve come across many matters during this course that I had never encountered before—neither during school nor earlier in adult life—and this has truly been a niʿmah (blessing) from Allāh. The fact that the course is delivered live via video, with structure and clarity, has made it accessible and engaging for students from all backgrounds. Whether male or female, anyone seeking sound understanding upon the manhaj of the Salaf will benefit from this programme, bi’idhnillāh.

One of the most appreciated aspects is the dedicated Q&A sessions at the end of each lesson. Ustādh Abu Khadeejah (ḥafiẓahullāh) is always willing to stay behind, address our questions, and clarify doubts with patience and wisdom—always referring back to the Qur’ān, Sunnah, and statements of the scholars. This has tremendously aided our understanding and connection to the material.

Alhamdulillāh, Ustādh dedication, consistency, and sincerity in teaching are truly appreciated. I ask Allāh to preserve him upon khayr, to reward him abundantly, and to increase in ʿilm and firmness upon the Sunnah.

I am genuinely looking forward and excited to continuing into Year 2, in-shā’ Allāh.

May Allāh increase in goodness and grant us all tawfīq to act upon what we learn and remain steadfast upon the path of the Salaf.

    Review 10

It was a pleasure and a blessing from Allāh (the Perfect and Most High) to have the opportunity to be your student and learn from you in the intensive course A Level Islamic studies for the past 2 years, and all praise is for Allah.

Due to this course, I left with the ability to take notes during lessons properly, which is crucial when seeking knowledge and not only this, but you always ensured we were following you throughout the lesson, so no one was left behind or feeling confused. We were given the ability to ask any questions about the lesson at any time using the chat box. Whether male or female students, you gave us both equal opportunities to have our questions answered in a safe and appropriate learning environment.

Ustādh Abu Khadeejah also allowed us to ask questions which weren’t related to the course at the end of the lesson, as well as on our gender-segregated Telegram channels, alhamdulillāh.

Additionally, Ustādh taught in a very clear manner; even the notes he provided us, which he had authored himself (may Allaah reward him), were very, very clear and easily comprehensible. I enjoyed learning from Ustādh and genuinely learnt so much from him. The course has been engaging, intriguing and a great means to seek knowledge in the comfort of your own home with online lessons with a teacher whom Allāh has blessed with the ability to teach. May Allāh reward him for all his efforts and preserve him. I definitely recommend this course as a sister who enrolled when I was only in year 12 (1st year of sixth form college).

    Review 11

Alhamdulillāh, the way you interactively taught us was really beneficial, clearing up doubts about Islam! Though there were some tough topics, you were able to explain them in a digestible manner. Allāhumma-bārik.

Your PDF study notes and the recorded lessons were of immense benefit, especially when I missed a session or needed to listen to the class again to confirm my understanding.

Alhamdulillāh, the responses I got from you, especially when I needed on-the-spot answers while I was performing Hajj, were very much appreciated.

Ustādh! My Allāh protect you and preserve you upon good in this world and in the Hereafter. May Allāh reward you abundantly for your generosity and hard work, grant us the success to implement what you have taught us, and aid us to pass it on to our family members, over whom we are responsible (and others). May Allāh be pleased with us all.

    Jazākallāhu-khairan.

    I highly recommend this course!

Sheikh Abu Khadeejah is incredibly patient and generous with his time. He ensures everyone fully understands the material before moving on, covering a wide range of topics. The class notes are detailed, and there are always additional resources available.

Sheikh Abu Khadeejah is accessible to his students even outside of class hours. We can reach out to him anytime, and he responds quickly, māshā’ Allāh. His dedication to his students’ success is evident. I appreciate his versatility: he covers everything from religious matters to health, fitness, and family life. For many of us, he is like a father figure.

As I enter my second year, I find his classes to be the highlight of my week. I feel truly blessed to be part of this. I always look forward to our weekly sessions and love starting my day with his class.

Whether you are young or old, a man or woman, just beginning your journey of learning or already at an advanced level, you will definitely benefit from this course, inshā’ Allāh.

    Review 13

The class has been a great benefit, alhamdulillāh, as it is a regular commitment to join other brothers and sisters to learn from a knowledgeable and engaging teacher. As students, we are always encouraged to ask questions to clarify what we are learning, and Ustādh Abu Khadeejah is willing to answer questions both on-topic and off-topic outside of our class time, which is a great help to us.

During classes, we always learned in great deal of depth across various topics, including extra learning relevant to our daily lives. Over the year of learning Units 3 and 4, I particularly enjoyed learning about the origins of philosophy and the “Golden Age” of Baghdad through the lens of Ahlus-Sunnah, and the guidelines of the senior scholars on living alongside non-Muslims in our societies and theirs in the present day.

I have completed the first year of the A-level Islamic Studies course, and I can say that I have benefitted immensely and grown in knowledge, alhamdulillāh. Ustādh Abu Khadeejah goes into great detail with each lesson, and I always find it very easy to understand and take notes.

This course is the best of its kind that I have seen.  It is evident from the material provided, lessons and structure that Ustādh Abu Khadeejah and his team have put a lot of time, thought and effort into providing this comprehensive and invaluable course.

Although I haven’t been able to attend the live lessons, I fully appreciate the flexibility of being able to access the recordings in my own time.

Alhamdullilah, I have now completed the first year of the course, which I have found highly beneficial and would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to understand Islam in light of the Quran and Sunnah according to the Pious Predecessors.

    ―Umm Sharifa (Female). July 2025.

    Review 16

I would highly recommend the A Level course to anyone looking to seek Islamic knowledge. Ustādh is a fountain of knowledge in a vast range of topics, and his passion for teaching this Islamic Studies course makes our 2-hour lesson feel too short! He makes all concepts easy to understand and ensures all questions and uncertainties are clarified during lessons.

We receive all the notes that are used during the lessons. They are very detailed and informative, and the lesson recordings allow us to revisit the lesson as many times as we need, making it easy to study for homework and for the exam.

Everything we learn helps to better us as Muslims in modern day, and Ustādh challenges us to continue seeking more knowledge to deepen our understanding and to teach others too.

May Ustādh and his team be rewarded abundantly for their efforts and be kept in good knowledge and health.

Attending the weekly Islamic studies classes with Shaykh Abu Khadeejah has truly been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. I absolutely love the format; structured, clear, and always deeply rooted in authentic sources. The Shaykh’s availability, patience, and willingness to explain every concept in detail make the learning process both accessible and incredibly rewarding.

There is such a wide variety of subjects covered, and the abundance of resources provided ensures that students can continue reflecting and reviewing long after each session ends. Although this is a two-year class, I’ve chosen to continue for another two years, in shaa’ Allaah, simply because of how beneficial and consistent the learning is. Every week brings something new, valuable, and deeply impactful.

    Review 20

This course is tremendously beneficial to anyone who wants to learn about Islam as it was taught by the Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and how it was understood by his companions (may Allah be pleased with them). I am not doing A Level, but I joined this course to learn about Islam in the light of the Quran & Sunnah, upon the understanding of the Pious Predecessors – and this is exactly what is being taught in an interactive structured format!

Each lesson is accompanied with a set of detailed notes which are extremely useful for revision. The Shaykh (may Allah preserve him) explains the topics very well and answers all questions diligently in the live sessions.

The course was both interactive and deeply enriching. Ustādh Abu Khadeejah’s structured approach and extensive knowledge made the experience truly worthwhile. The course materials and recorded lectures serve as valuable lifelong resources. One of the most remarkable aspects of the course is Ustādh’s willingness to address all questions with patience and clarity, and his calm and friendly demeanour stands out as a defining feature of the learning journey.

    Review 22

I am truly grateful that Allah chose me to be a part of this A Level course. Before enrolling, my only concern was the fee, will I be able to manage? I wondered. But Alhamdulillah, after joining, I can say with full conviction that it was one of the best decisions of my life. There is nothing that compares to sitting with a Salafi teacher in a structured, well-organized classroom setting and benefiting from direct, guided learning that random online lectures simply cannot offer. In reality, when we rely solely on self-study, we’re navigating through murky waters, vulnerable to confusion and misguidance.

Shaykh Abu Khadeejah (حفظه الله) delivers the classes in such an engaging and captivating manner that you find yourself eagerly counting down the days until the next class. Especially when we were learning about the Pre-Islamic History and the Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ —Tuesdays couldn’t come soon enough for me!

What makes his teaching even more impactful is his constant support and accessibility. He patiently answers our questions, clarifies doubts with wisdom, and shares invaluable life lessons and practical advice throughout the course. His dedication to our learning truly sets this experience miles apart.

The classes are highly interactive, with live Q&A sessions in every lesson, giving us countless opportunities to learn, ask questions, and truly benefit. Shaykh Abu Khadeejah (حفظه الله) always reminds us with warmth: “We do not stress! We enjoy and participate as a family.” It’s no surprise that many students have been with the Shaykh for over two years and still choose to continue.

This course has been a means of both knowledge and growth—and for that, I thank Allah wholeheartedly.

I came to Salafiyyah about 8 years ago, after spending 15 years with Tablighi Jamaat. When I began seeking knowledge from Salafi scholars, I had to start from scratch, but Alhamdulillāh, it was worth it.

A year ago, I discovered Abu Khadeejah’s Islamic Studies course and initially thought it might be too basic for me, given my years of studying ʿaqeedah and other subjects.

However, I encouraged four friends to join me, and we all felt the same way. But we were pleasantly surprised! The classes were engaging, interactive, and full of new insights. We looked forward to Tuesdays and found the sessions to be a spiritual boost.

Alhamdulillah, I highly recommend this course to everyone. It will be an amazing learning experience for all of you. Bārakallāhu-feekum

Alhamdulillāh, it is truly a blessing and a dream come true for my 9-year-old to be able to study under Ustādh Abu Khadeejah. The Tarbiyah Islamic class is very engaging, and Ustādh explains everything clearly in a way that young boys can understand and enjoy.

He keeps the students involved by asking questions, which helps them stay focused and learn better. Most importantly, the class helps boost my child’s Iman and love for Islam.

We are deeply grateful for this opportunity. May Allah reward Ustaz Abu Khadeejah immensely and continue to bless this noble effort. Ameen.

Listen to this short overview of the course by Abu Khadeejah. Note: The format remains the same for September 2025, as stated in this audio.

Cambridge International A-Level Islamic Studies: An Online Course for Men and Women Worldwide

    Everything you need to know!

    1. Why This Course is So Unique and Worth Studying

Cambridge International AS and A Level Islamic Studies (9488): This is an internationally recognised course and qualification for those who pass the final exam. A good grasp of English is required for this course. Arabic is not a requirement. Anyone can apply for this course from anywhere in the world

If you’ve always wanted to study Islam formally in a structured manner (in English), then this is the ideal course for you, male or female. You do not have to do the exam at the end of the two years, but if you do, it is the Cambridge International A Level Islamic Studies (9488) recognised by every college and university in the world.

Furthermore, this course is adapted and taught by Abu Khadeejah in light of the Qur’ān and Sunnah, and the understanding of the early Muslim scholars (Salaf). It is unique with no equivalent in the English language that we know of. Abu Khadeejah has prepared thousands of pages of study materials to which you will have access.

These are interactive online video/audio classes conducted via the Google Classroom platform. The lesson style is personal and friendly, and there is plenty of opportunity to ask and answer questions.

The Islamic Studies syllabus enables learners to gain a better understanding of the religious writings, history, and current affairs of Islam. As a result, they can think and argue intelligently about the subject. The syllabus is broad and ranges from the beginnings of Islam to the variety of beliefs and practices of Islam and the basis of Islamic law. Learners develop knowledge about aspects of the rich Islamic heritage and reflect on the role played by Islam today. (See Cambridge University Press & Assessment, 2022)

    2. Course Duration, Beginning and End

When can I register? Each year, between 1st June and 1st September. Places are limited; therefore, the earlier you apply, the more likely you are to get a place (inshā’-Allāh).
Course start date: September / October of each year.
Payment: Every 3 months in advance until course completion, or for the whole course in advance.

The A-Level course consists of four Shariah headings referred to by the Cambridge Board as Papers because each one refers to an exam paper that is normally taken by students at the end of the two-year course.

Our students are not required to take the exam if they choose not to. However, if you sit the exam, the awarding body is the Cambridge University Exam Board. So, each Paper of the four Papers covers dozens of subjects and topics spanning hundreds of pages of study notes, and hundreds of hours of video lectures and audio recordings. Each year, Shaikh Abu Khadeejah teaches two of the four Papers, and he has arranged the subjects in such a manner that he can take on a new cohort of students every September for a period of two years, and they will complete all four Papers and every topic in that time, inshā’-Allāh.

So, in Year 1, he ordinarily teaches Papers 1 and 2, and in Year 2, he teaches Papers 3 and 4. So, it does not matter which year you join ― as long as you stay the full two years, then you will have completed all four Papers. Furthermore, even if you do not sit the exam, but have completed 80% of the homework, Shaikh Abu Khadeejah will issue you a certificate of completion and success as long as you are a person of Sunnah and can provide a Salafi character reference.

    3. Day and Time Each Week

This two-hour class takes place every Tuesday, normally between 1 pm and 3 pm (UK time). There will be 36 of these lessons per annum over three terms, broadly following British and US school term times. That means vacations throughout the year (including ʿEids). The course duration is two years, beginning in September every year. The exact start date will be decided by Abu Khadeejah, inshā’-Allāh.

So, the course is for two academic years, and the live teaching time is two hours per week, loosely following the UK schools’ term timetable. A month of teaching is eight hours of learning. Lessons are conducted each Tuesday from 1 pm to 3 pm (UK time) (inshā-Allāh). The teacher reserves the right to poll the students and alter these times if he sees that to be suitable.

    4. About the teacher: Abu Khadeejah

Abu Khadeejah’s (Waheed Alam) qualifications: BEng Hons., Bradford University, PGCE, Manchester University.

“A little about myself that you may not know—I am a teacher, father, and grandfather. I care about the Islamic education of our young men and women. I am a graduate and a qualified teacher with over 30 years of experience in teaching Islam. I wish the best for you, so I expect my students to pay attention, work hard and be sincere in seeking knowledge.”

Furthermore, Abu Khadeejah has been recommended and praised by numerous senior Scholars, such as Shaikh Muqbil Ibn Hādī (rahimahullāh), Shaikh Abdullāh al-Ghudayān (rahimahullāh), Shaikh Rabeeʿ Ibn Hādī Al-Madkhali, Shaikh ʿUbayd Al-Jābirī (rahimahullāh), and Shaikh Hasan Ibn ʿAbdul-Wahhāb al-Bannā.

    5. Previous Knowledge and Syllabus

Previous knowledge of Islam is not a requirement to join this course (as stated by Cambridge International in their syllabus). However, Abu Khadeejah advises that this course requires exerting oneself and investing time each week: two hours in the live lessons, and two hours of personal study and revision.

The syllabus year refers to the year in which the examination will be taken. Please download and read the complete syllabus:

    6. Course Certification and International Recognition

“UK NARIC, the national agency in the UK for the recognition and comparison of international qualifications and skills, has carried out an independent benchmarking study of Cambridge International AS & A Level and found it to be comparable to the standard of AS & A Level in the UK. 7. Method of Teaching: Google Classroom

The lessons are live, interactive online video classes with Abu Khadeejah in a classroom format conducted via Google Classrooms. The only person who can be seen is Abu Khadeejah. The lesson style is very personal and friendly, and there is plenty of opportunity to ask and answer questions.

We will show you how to join the class. But, in essence, this video shows you how it works:

    8. How the Lessons are Taught

    1. You will need a Gmail (Google email) account. Once you’ve set it up, please email us from the Gmail account, with your full name. Please choose a username that is simple such as an actual name or a kunyah, e.g., ‘abdullah.jones’, ‘abu.zainab’, ‘umm.taalibah’, etc. This makes it easy for us to recognise individual students.
    2. Your assignments will be submitted via Google Docs, which you’ll have access to through your Gmail account.
    3. Lesson Format: We intend to use Google Classroom to conduct the classes. Please take time to familiarise yourselves with both. Don’t worry too much if you cannot grasp it immediately, we will help you along.
    4. You will need to have regular access to a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer for use in lessons and for submitting assignments. Smartphones will not be sufficient!
    5. A-level students are adults and are used to studying. So, please attend on time, pay attention to the class, and take notes or make mind-maps. This will form the backbone of your work.
    6. We will compile helpful class notes/study articles (PDF format) that will aid you in learning the relevant topics, which will ensure you’ll pass the final exam at the end of the two academic years, inshā’-Allāh.
    7. All the classes will be recorded for you to revise or catch up in case you miss lessons.

Please make sure you have a Tablet (or iPad) and a laptop computer so you can follow the lessons. All the study notes will be accessible as read-only PDF files via Google Docs, inshā’-Allāh. Hard copies (printable) are not currently available. Abu Khadeejah recommends using a laptop (or desktop computer) to log in to the weekly lessons, and a tablet (or iPad) to read the PDF study notes. Furthermore, you’ll need a notepad, with pens, pencils and highlighters to take written notes.

    9. Stay in Touch with Your Teacher

You can stay in touch with Abu Khadeejah via WhatsApp, and we’ve set up a dedicated Telegram group for all those registered for the A-Level Islamic Studies course so you can communicate with us, ask questions, seek clarification, interact with other students, and share notes!

    10. Syllabus Simplified PDF

    11. Abu Khadeejah’s Unique Methodology in this Course

We intend to teach this course from the perspective of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah, i.e., those who follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and cling to the path of his noble Companions (Allah be pleased with them), the methodology and traditions of the early Ḥadīth scholars. The People of Ḥadīth adhere to the narrations authentically reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions. We consider that to be more important than the individual opinions of men who came in later times. We will take nothing for granted ― every aspect of the syllabus will be studied critically.

Students will be taught to analyse texts, theories and assumptions of various Islamic orientations and compare them to the Creed, Methodology and Fiqh (Jurisprudence) of the early scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah, Ahlul-Ḥadīth and the Salaf As-Ṣālih (The Righteous Predecessors. Then the students will draw solid conclusions and formulate valid scholarly views.

    12. Abu Khadeejah’s Teaching Approach

Abu Khadeejah’s teaching approach is friendly and informal because that is more engaging (especially for younger people), nevertheless, the body of knowledge that he’ll be covering over these two years will build a solid foundation of Islām for the rest of their lives (inshā’-Allāh)!

Abu Khadeejah is a lecturer and facilitator, and he loves to teach. However, a lot of effort and work will have to come from you as well. We know many of you have hectic lives and busy schedules, but if you can, you should spare just two hours each week to research, read, and listen to these enjoyable classes. And remember, the exam is not compulsory. Many students just enjoy learning in a classroom setting and coming together every week, like a family!

    13. Exam Entry and Centres Around the World

Candidates will be responsible for submitting entries for exams at the relevant exam centres locally or internationally. You should research whether you are able to reach an examination centre before enrolling on this course.

If you’re still interested in studying and taking the exam, then please read the syllabus thoroughly, as this course will require commitment.

    14. Course Fees

The fee will be £45 per week (GBP) per student based on two hours of direct learning each week, to be paid three months in advance. You can pay by Debit Card from anywhere in the world. You will need to send the fee at least seven days before the first lesson every three months. You will be notified when the payment is due. Any delay in payment will result in the denial of access to the classes. Then, you will not be reinstated into the class until the full monthly payment is received, even if this results in you missing some lessons. Once you have been removed, all your work is erased from Google Classroom.

Remember that the course lasts for two years.

    15. Leaving the Course and Missing Lessons

You can leave the course at any time without penalty (or hard feelings), but let us know at least one week before the next payment is due.

Please note: Refund will not be given once the fee is paid, so completing the lessons for that period would be advisable. Additionally, if you are unwell, busy at work or on holiday, fees will not be refunded, nor carried over into the next month or months.

We expect students to catch up on any missed work. All the classes are recorded, so you can listen again and revise at any time, inshā’-Allāh. You will not be charged during term holidays, half-term holidays or during teacher absences. So, you only pay for the actual lessons, and not more than that. Please remember that this is an Advanced Level course with plenty of bespoke material produced by Shaikh Abu Khadeejah (may Allah preserve him). Therefore, students must take their studies seriously, and it requires commitment, but that does not mean they will not enjoy the lessons. Our students love the classes and join us each week as friends and family!

    16. Application Form

If you are happy and want to join our classes, please read the above information carefully once more. Now, if you are pleased with what you have read, please fill in the application and agreement form.

Please do not fill in this form if you do not intend to proceed to payment.

    17. Payment

Once your application has been approved, we will be in touch with you via email (inshā’-Allāh) – make sure you check your spam folder! Thereafter, you will have 48 hours to make the first payment. Please note that refunds are not offered once you have enrolled and paid. May Allah bless you.

    17. Contact us if you require further information.

If you have any questions that are not covered above, feel free to contact our team.

An Important Question from a Prospective Student

I am interested in this course, but I want to know whether it’s worth it. What is the difference between taking this course and one who reads the free Islamic material on Abu Khadeejah’s website, or other Islamic books recommended by the Shaikh that can be purchased from a bookstore?

    Answer:

In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.

Yes, it is possible. However, it is like buying an A-level book in biology and reading it at home without attending college and without a teacher, or picking up Buloogh Al-Marām of Ibn Hajr and reading it from cover to cover to learn Islamic Fiqh. No doubt, you will benefit, but it is an undirected study, and when you do not have a class that you know you must attend weekly, most people lose their enthusiasm and leave their A-Level biology book (or Buloogh al-Marām) unread, except for a few chapters. Furthermore, a qualified teacher can explain things that are not apparent in the direct reading of the text—things that require extensive reading and understanding from other source materials.

Additionally, as it relates to A-Level Islamic Studies (Cambridge), there is no published study guide, so Abu Khadeejah has produced his own study notes specifically for his students that are not available elsewhere.

The students who attend the lessons know that they have to get through a lot of material in just two hours of direct learning a week, and then they are given homework that is marked, so they are encouraged to solidify their understanding and memory of the subject.

The lessons are delivered via live video classes, the audio is recorded, and PDF study notes are delivered to the students through the Google Classrooms portal.

So, as you can see, studying in a classroom environment for just two hours a week is far more beneficial than trying to study alone without guidance. Also, knowing you have paid for the course gives you a further incentive to attend! And guidance and success are with Allah, the Most Kind and Generous.

    May Allah bless you.

This course is ideal for young males aged 9 to 16 years old.

    2. Why a Short Weekly Tarbiyah Class is So Important

This course has been designed for young men to develop their knowledge and understanding of Islam in historical and contemporary contexts through a range of key topics in light of the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah. These lessons enable students to develop skills of analysis, research and interpretation. With these skills, they can face the challenges that affect Islam and the lives of Muslims today. There will be time to ask Abu Khadeejah questions during and after each lesson―and they’ll be set homework each week, and if they submit it, it’ll be marked, inshā’-Allāh.

The course also serves as an excellent foundation for those who wish to pursue the International GCSE certificate or Advanced Level Islamic Studies course with Shaikh Abu Khadeejah in the future, inshā’-Allāh. The course content has been created by Abu Khadeejah ʿAbdul-Wāhid, and includes thousands of pages of study notes with new content being added weekly—all praise is for Allāh, and may Allāh bless it.

    4. Day and Time Each Week

This 60-minute class takes place every Saturday, normally between 12 pm and 1 pm (UK time). The time of the lesson has been set to suit as many time zones as possible.

There will be 36 of these lessons per annum over three terms, broadly following British and US school term times. That means there will be vacations throughout the year (including ʿEids). The course duration is two years, beginning in September every year. The exact start date will be decided by Abu Khadeejah, inshā’-Allāh.

So, the course is for two academic years, and the live teaching time is one hour per week, loosely following the UK schools’ term timetable. A month of teaching is four hours of learning. The teacher reserves the right to poll the students and alter these times if he sees that to be suitable.

International GCSE Islamic Studies for Young Men

    By Abu Khadeejah

Sorry, this course is not available for this academic year.

    Bespoke Classroom Notes

Each lesson comes with about 10 pages of bespoke copyright study notes, all prepared by Abu Khadeejah, may Allah bless the work and effort. That’s thousands of pages over the period of the course. Below are samples from Abu Khadeejah’s A-Level and Tarbiyah courses. He has started making a whole series for the International GCSE course (alhamdulillāh).

    1. Islamic Studies: International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE): A 2-Year Course.

The online Islamic Studies International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) course is ideal for boys (14 and above) and men (of any age). The exam at the end is optional.

There will be time to ask Abu Khadeejah questions during and after each lesson―and they will be set homework each week. If submitted, it will be marked, inshā’-Allāh. However, the pupils are not obliged to complete homework, but it helps with learning and is arguably essential if you wish to pass the exam at the end of the two years.

Students are accepted from all over the world and can enrol at any time. Whenever you step in, you’ll benefit, inshā’-Allāh.

This two-year course is taught at a pace conducive to the level and age of the students in the class and serves as an excellent foundation for those who wish to pursue the more intensive Advanced Level Islamic Studies (Cambridge University Assessment) course with Abu Khadeejah in the future, inshā’-Allāh. This course is ideal for men or boys 14 years and above.

“GCSE courses mainly involve studying the theory of a subject combined with some investigative work. Each qualification is at Level 1 or 2 on the National Qualifications Framework, depending on the grade you achieve. Highly valued by schools, colleges and employers, GCSEs are the first step towards a range of careers or further study. GCSEs have been used as a benchmark to judge student ability for more than 25 years.”

(Quote from the Pearson Edexcel website)

    2. The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Course

The online International GCSE in Islamic Studies is an intermediate-level course ideal for male students aged 14 and above. It is also an excellent foundation for those who wish to take the online A-level Islamic Studies course in the future with Abu Khadeejah, inshā’-Allāh.

If you’ve always wanted to study Islam formally in a structured manner in English, then this is the ideal course for you. You do not have to sit the exam at the end of the two years, but if you do, it is a qualification that is recognised by every college and university around the world. Furthermore, this course is adapted and material produced by Abu Khadeejah in light of the Qur’ān and authentic Hadīths, with the understanding of the Muslim scholars of the first few centuries.

It is unique with no equivalent in the English language that we know of. Furthermore, Abu Khadeejah has prepared thousands of pages of copyright bespoke study materials to which you will have access.

These are interactive online video classes conducted via the Google Classroom platform. The lesson style is personal and friendly, and there is plenty of opportunity to ask and answer questions.

Question: Can students enrol on the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Islamic Studies course at any time throughout the year?

Answer: We have decided that whoever wishes to join us can do so at any time between September and December of each academic year. We have designed each week as a stand-alone lesson, which means that previous knowledge is not essential (though it may be helpful). This course is open to males only, and the fees are reasonable considering the extensive content and bespoke study notes.

5. The Course

The IGCSE course consists of three key sections and only one exam paper, which is normally taken by students at the end of the two-year course.

Our students are not required to take the exam if they choose not to. However, if you sit the IGCSE exam, the awarding body is the Edexcel Exam Board. This course covers dozens of subjects and topics spanning hundreds of pages of study notes. Each year, Abu Khadeejah teaches the course and has arranged the subjects in such a manner that he can take on a new cohort of students every September for a period of two years, during which they will complete every topic in all three key sections in that time, inshā’-Allāh.

So, in Year 1, Abu Khadeejah ordinarily teaches Section A and half of Section B, and in Year 2, he teaches the remaining half of section B and Section C. So, it does not matter in which year you join ― as long as you stay the full two years you will have completed all three key sections. Furthermore, even if you do not sit the exam, but have completed 80% of the homework, Abu Khadeejah will issue you a certificate of completion and success as long as you are a person of Sunnah and can provide a Salafi character reference.

    9. Overview of How You Will Be Studying This Course

Inshā’-Allāh, we intend to teach this course from the perspective of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah (The People of Sunnah and the Main Body, i.e., those who follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and cling to the path of his noble Companions, may Allah be pleased with them) following in that the methodology and traditions of the early Ahlul-Ḥadīth scholars: The People of Ḥadīth adhere to the narrations authentically reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions―and regard that to be more important than the individual opinions of those who came in later times. We intend to take nothing for granted―every aspect of the syllabus will be studied critically. Students will be taught to analyse texts, theories and assumptions of various Islamic orientations and compare them to the Creed, Methodology and Fiqh (Jurisprudence) of the early scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah, Ahlul-Ḥadīth and the Salaf As-Ṣālih (The Righteous Predecessors are the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the three generations of Muslims who came after them) ―then draw conclusions and formulate views.

We will be teaching these subjects in a format that will enable students to pass the IGCSE Islamic Studies exam (inshā’-Allāh). This is an International GCSE level course and therefore requires students to read around topics and not just rely on the two hours a week from the lessons. Having said that, Abu Khadeejah will teach the students well (inshā’-Allāh), explain things thoroughly, interact with them, and answer their questions.

    10. Exam Entry

Candidates will be responsible for submitting entries for exams at the relevant exam centres locally or internationally. You should research whether you are able to reach an examination centre before enrolling on this course.

If you’re still interested in studying and taking the exam, then please read the Edexcel Islamic Studies Syllabus thoroughly as this course will require commitment.

    14. How the Lessons are Taught

    1. You will need a Gmail (Google email) account. Once you’ve set it up, please email us from the Gmail account with your full name.
    2. Please choose a simple username, such as an actual name or a kunyah, e.g., abdullah.jones, or abu.zainab, or umm.talibah, etc. This makes it easy for us to recognise individual students.
    3. Your assignments will be submitted via Google Docs, which you’ll have access to through your Gmail account.
    4. Lesson Format: We intend to use Google Classroom to conduct the classes. Please take time to familiarise yourselves with both. Don’t worry too much if you cannot grasp it immediately, we will help you along.
    5. You will need to have regular access to a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer for use in lessons and for submitting assignments. Smartphones will not be sufficient!
    6. Please attend on time, pay attention to the class, and it is better that you take notes or make mind-maps. This will form the backbone of your work.
    7. We will compile some great class study articles (PDF format) that will aid you in learning the relevant topics.

    15. Stay in Touch with Your Teacher

You can stay in touch with Abu Khadeejah via WhatsApp, and we’ve set up a dedicated Telegram group for all those registered so you can communicate with us, ask questions, and seek clarification.

    17. Abu Khadeejah’s Teaching Approach

Abu Khadeejah’s teaching approach is friendly and informal because that is more engaging (especially for younger people); nevertheless, the body of knowledge that he’ll be covering over these three years will build a solid foundation of Islām for the rest of their lives, inshā’-Allāh!

    18. Course Fees

The fee will be £40 per week (GBP) per student based on two hours of direct learning each week, to be paid three months in advance. You can pay by Debit Card from anywhere in the world. You will need to send the fee seven days before the first lesson every three months.

    * Term One: 12 lessons: £480 (GB Pounds) or $660 (US Dollars)
    * Term Two: 12 lessons: £480 (GB Pounds) or $660 (US Dollars)
    * Term Three: 12 lessons: £480 (GB Pounds) or $660 (US Dollars)

    Or for the complete year:

    * Academic year covering 36 lessons: £1,440 (GB Pounds) or $1,980 (US Dollars)

    19. Leaving the Course and Missing Lessons

You can leave the course at any time without penalty (or hard feelings), but let us know at least two weeks before the next payment is due. Please note: Refund will not be given once the fee is paid, so completing the lessons for that period would be advisable. Additionally, if you are unwell, busy at work or on holiday, fees will not be refunded, nor carried over into the next month or months.

We expect students to catch up on any missed work. All the classes are audio recorded, so you can listen again and revise at any time, inshā’-Allāh. You will not be charged during term holidays, half-term holidays or during teacher absences. So, you only pay for the actual lessons, and not more than that. Please remember that this is an International GCSE course with plenty of bespoke copyrighted material produced by Abu Khadeejah (may Allah preserve him). The course material is not allowed to be shared. Therefore, students must take their studies seriously, and it requires commitment, but that does not mean they will not enjoy the lessons. Our students love the classes and join us each week as friends and family!

    Sample Worksheet Images 2

Each lesson comes with about 10 pages of bespoke copyright study notes, all prepared by Abu Khadeejah, may Allah bless the work and effort. That’s thousands of pages over the period of the course. Below are samples from Abu Khadeejah’s A-Level and Tarbiyah courses.
